Whale Hunting. Why, Because We Can.

Well, those pesky Japanese Whalers are at it again. Just a few days before the 63rd anniversary of Pearl Harbor and they’re going hunting for Migaloo, the white humpback whale, or at least for members of his extended family.Of course the main reason they’re going to harvest whales is scientific research…and to sell the meat along with some other valuable entrails.

Greenpeace has vowed to harass the Japanese vessels and try to prevent the harvest from occurring, apparently the organization really gave the whalers a hard time last year. The part of this that I find upsetting is that Japan is sort of flaunting this well we’re going harvest whales so get over it attitude. The island nation already consumes half of the world’s tuna harvest.

I think they should give the whales a break. What do you think?
